Dignity is a value all human has. Whether we realize
or not, there will always be a certain self-worth that we hold on to no matter
what happens. Meet Ken. He is a young man full of dreams and hopes in his life.
He loves to run, and run, and run. He practically runs all the time. Running
has been a part of his life. Running is not his only achievement. He is a top
student in school and great in music too. He has not only one, not two,
(chuckles) three is not even a close number, but has achieved a lot in his
life. Anna is one of his achievements too. She is always there by his side,
supporting him, in good or in bad times. She never fails to smile, never fails
to cheer him up. She is the love of Ken’s life.
Dear Anna, I am truly sorry that all you have today
is nothing but this piece of paper. Thank you for the times we’ve spent
together went through together. Thank you for all the encouragements and that
never failing smile on your face no matter what happens. Thank you for
everything that you have done. I am sorry that this has to end so fast for us. I’m
truly sorry that I have to ask you to leave me as I never want you to see me at
my worst. Just remember that you will be forever in my heart. I know you always
want me to live no matter how hard life is, but I just can’t see myself sitting
on the couch waiting to be helped all the time. Life shouldn’t be this way. I really hope that you honor my decision. I
am sorry I chose dignity over love. Love, Ken.
This is Alex. He is a hardworking and smart young
man. He is a strong believer, never fails to honor his God. Death? Death is
not something that anyone likes, but death is not something new to Alex as he
is a doctor. Day in, day out, patients come and go, for good or for bad. Alex,
as a doctor does more than what a doctor should do; going all out to save
precious lives that God has given to each and every one of us.
Life don't always go as planned. Who knows when and where it is going to hit us. Decision, Dignity and Death are the things that all patients that go through Euthanasia have to face.
So, do you support Euthanasia?
